A Reminder on Bar Rules from Bar Manager Joe Gallagher

As the season gets underway, it is important for all members to remember that there are rules in effect that must be followed when the Bar is open. This is a brief synopsis of the salient points. Members are encouraged to review these rules and to inform their guests of our policies.

1) No one under the age of twenty-one will be served an alcoholic beverage or be in the possession of an alcoholic beverage while on the premises. To reasonably insure that the preceding is complied with, one of the four following types of identification must be checked on the day of service:

     (1) Massachusetts Drivers License.

     (2) Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Liquor ID Card.

     (3) Passport issued by the U.S. or from a country recognized by the U.S.

    (4) Valid Military Identification Card (green, active service card only).

 2) All alcoholic beverages sold or served, must be opened and consumed on the premises.

The parking lot is a non-alcohol drinking area no matter where you obtain the drink, per order of the Department of Conservation.

3) Members and guests will NOT bring alcoholic beverages into the SSYC Clubhouse when the bar is open. Our liquor license makes us like any other establishment the serves liquor and you are not allowed to bring in your own liquor.

 4) An individual will not be served a shot and a beer.

 5) All SSYC guests are required to sign our Guest Book on each day of service.

 6) No alcoholic beverage will be sold or delivered on the premises to an intoxicated person, even if that person is not driving.

7) A Flag officer may shut the bar down at any time deemed necessary.

 8) It is every member of the SSYC's moral responsibility to insure that no member or guest attempts to operate a motor vehicle or watercraft while intoxicated.

Please do your part to ensure the success of the bar and it’s policies so that we may continue to operate under the License we have been granted and are required to maintain if there is to be any alcohol in our Club.
